One of the weirdest baits I’ve ever used for carp was marshmallows—and to my surprise, they actually worked! I was fishing a pressured lake where carp had seen every typical bait under the sun, so I decided to try something different. I lightly toasted the marshmallow with a lighter to make it a bit firmer, then hair-rigged it just like a boilie. Within an hour, I had a solid take from a decent-sized carp! It seems the combination of sweetness, buoyancy, and curiosity got the better of them. What’s the strangest bait you’ve ever tried?
