With a Spring trip planned in France, it wasn’t long before it came around and Lukas was amidst a session to remember! Landing a HUGE common of 51lb+ and a NEW PB!
This fish was without a doubt the highlight of my trip! After spending a few nights in our first swim, we decided to move to a second spot we had reserved. The fish were just out of casting range, so I took the boat halfway out and cast a single hinge stiff rig as close to them as possible. Same time avoiding any disturbance of the fish.
The next morning, just after breakfast, the bobbin tightened up and I was into a fish. It stayed deep throughout the fight, ending the battle with a couple of powerful runs as it came close to the bank. When it finally slid into the net, I could tell immediately it was a good one. We got it weighed, and to my surprise it turned out to be a new personal best. I couldn’t have been happier!
My chosen rig was a Stiff Hinge with a high visual pink pup-up fish as a single hookbait! A classic spring approach for me" - @lukasfishingdk
